The Challenge

Following my inspiring experience in Temi Cooker's Domestika class, I embarked on the ambitious project of crafting a daily poster – although I must admit, my initial enthusiasm only carried me through the first week! 😂 The first six designs were born out of my fascination with Temi's creative exploration. However, rest assured that this artistic journey is far from over! Be sure to stay tuned and bookmark this page if you're eager to witness the exciting evolution of my work. There's much more to come! 🎨✨

Process

Sketching and prototyping play a pivotal role in my creative process, allowing me to visualize my ideas and refine them iteratively. My designs often reflect a harmonious fusion of color theory, typography, and multimedia elements, showcasing my keen eye for detail.

Solution

For me, the solution lies in embracing playfulness! I like to refer to my designs as "happy accidents," embracing the serendipity of allowing elements to naturally fall into place. The final piece above is a manifestation of my creative expression, depicting what it feels like to navigate the world in black and brown bodies. It was undeniably one of the more emotionally challenging pieces to create, but I relish how these designs have the power to articulate the daily experiences we endure. There's a profound joy in letting creativity flow freely, capturing the essence of our lived realities through art.
